Arin Ilejay

Arin Ilejay was the third drummer for Avenged Sevenfold after Mike Portnoy left. His real name is Richard Arin Ilejay. He was born on February 17, 1988 in Palmdale, California, and is 34 years old. After he left the band in 2015, he was replaced by Brooks Wackerman of Bad Religion fame.

Richard played drums for the bands, "Tear the Sails" and "Confide" before he started playing drums for Avenged Sevenfold in early 2011. He replaced Mike Portnoy who filled in for Avenged Sevenfold's original drummer, The Rev. Arin recorded the drum track for "Not Ready to Die", "Carry On", and the album Hail to the King since he first joined the band. Despite the passing of a great friend and fantastic drummer, and the struggle to find a drummer that suits The Rev's qualities, members of Avenged Sevenfold have said they had been getting along nicely with Arin and enjoy having him in the band. Arin became an official member of Avenged Sevenfold on August 10, 2013, in Montreal, Canada on their promotional Hail to the King Tour. On July 23, 2015, it was announced that Avenged Sevenfold would part ways with Arin. The reason cited was "creative differences" (due to a generational age gap). Since leaving Avenged, he has joined the band Islander.
