The Bass Guitar (also called electric bass, or simply bass) is a stringed instrument played primarily with the fingers or thumb, by plucking, slapping, popping, strumming, tapping, thumping, or picking with a plectrum, often known as a pick.

Matt Wendt[]

Matt Wendt was the first bassist of Avenged Sevenfold, joining when the band was formed back in 1999. He left the band before they released even one album in 2000, and was replaced by Justin Sane.  

Justin Sane[]

Justin Sane was the second bassist of Avenged Sevenfold, replacing Matt Wendt, joining in 2000. He left the band in 2001, before they released even one album, and was replaced by Dameon Ash.  

Dameon Ash[]

Dameon Ash was the third bassist of Avenged Sevenfold, replacing Justin Sane, joining in 2001, and recording their first album with them, Sounding the Seventh Trumpet. He left the band in 2002, and was replaced by Johnny Christ, who became the main stay bassist for the band.  

Johnny Christ[]

Johnny Christ is the fourth and current bassist for Avenged Sevenfold, replacing Dameon Ash, joining in 2002, and recorded all of their albums with them except for their first. Back in the day he would go watch the band practice, constantly commenting on how the bassists that they had sucked, until they finally decided to recruit him, and he remained ever since.
