Johnny Christ (c.2011)

Johnny Christ is the bassist for Avenged Sevenfold. His real name is Jonathan Lewis Seward. He was born on November 18, 1984 in Huntington Beach, California. Johnny Christ knew The Rev and Synyster Gates when he was younger because he would show up to band practices and explain how their bassist sucked. There had been three bassists (Matt Wendt, Justin Sane, and Dameon Ash) before Johnny joined the group. By this time, it was 2003 and four years after Avenged Sevenfold has formed.

Before he was permanently introduced into the band, he left high school and went on tour with the band when one of their bassists was absent or couldn't make it. Johnny Christ had gotten his name from The Rev and Zacky Vengeance because they said that it was a "ballsy" name, just like Jonathan himself. Johnny is constantly harassed by the band, too. He is made fun of for being short, and (as Synyster Gates has said) playing with four strings (because Synyster and Zacky use six strings). He is known for his mohawk and playful attitude on stage, and he plays a Schecter, along with Synyster and Zacky.
