Waking the Fallen is Avenged Sevenfold's second album. By this time, the band had little recognition. Johnny Christ was just added as a permanent member after the three previous bassists. This album was released by Hopeless Records on August 26, 2003. By this point in time, Avenged Sevenfold was playing live at slightly larger gigs, like Vans Warped Tour, and they had made a few appearances on MTV. They also made their first appearance on Billboard. In 2004, Avenged Sevenfold signed with Warner Bros. Records.
